Join the Justice Denied Team
(All Positions with Justice: Denied are volunteer.)
With the last letter I wrote the JD family has grown by 5 more wonderful
people. I want to say right now that we are happy to have them and they are
appreciated. The one thing that we all have at JD is dedication. Each one is
dedicated to giving the innocent a chance to be heard. Each of us is
dedicated to bringing about changes in the justice system. Some of us came to
JD because we had loved ones wrongly convicted and we saw first-hand how our
system of justice has failed. Others have come to JD because they saw a
genuine need and wanted to help make a difference.
We are always in need of dedicated, caring and resourceful people to join our
family. If you would like to join us to help the innocent that are
languishing in our prisons contact me at: Jdcoordinate@aol.com.
Pamela Eller
We need someone who will submit our site to the various search engines and
generally help promote JD on the Internet. Please write to
JD-General-Corres@SBCglobal.net (C'Rene Dana) if you are interested in helping us in
this very pivotal job.

is that we have too much work to reply quickly.
LIVE-IN ASSISTANT FOR JUSTICE DENIED: Must be free to relocate to Oregon,
food and lodging plus small stipend. Possibility of increased stipend from
grant funds later. Should have computer skills and writing skills. All
aspects of office work involved. Please write first to C'Rene at
JD-General-Corres@SBCglobal.net giving your qualifications and telling us something about
yourself.
ONLINE "OFFICE MANAGER" FOR JD: We have grown to the point that we need
someone to organize us better. Job description includes, but is not limited
to, hounding the writers to hand in their stories on time, keeping us on time
for publishing, handling non-story inquiries. This may include routing mail
to the appropriate people (subscriptions, offers of help, receiving news
material for JD SnapShots or other features and sending these to the Team for
assignment), among other tasks, including formatting text. May also be
dealing with legal volunteers and organizing them. Not a difficult job, but
it is time-consuming. Contact C'Rene at JD-General-Corres@SBCglobal.net.
INTERVIEWER FOR NEW PEOPLE: Fortunately, we do receive many good offers, but
we need a person to "interview" these people online. Your phone call expenses
for phone interviews will be reimbursed by JD. Final decisions will be made
by the Editor in Chief and the JD Team, but we need someone to correspond
with potential volunteers who now go unanswered due to our lack of time.
Writing skills are desirable, but not absolutely necessary. Patience and good
humor are necessary. Please write directly to C'Rene at JD-General-Corres@SBCglobal.net for
this job.
(Second) CHIEF EDITORIAL ASSISTANT wanted to take over many tasks now handled by
Chief Editor. Work consists of going over pieces already edited by the Edit
Team to make sure they are as perfect as we can make them. We need an
Assistant Editor. Should have previous editing experience, excellent command
of the English language, time and patience. Please write to C'Rene at
JD-General-Corres@SBCglobal.net
STORY EDITORS: Your work will be to prepare stories for Justice: Denied from
emails, typed or hand-written accounts. Must have working knowledge of
grammar, spelling, and sentence structure. Past experience is desirable, but
not necessary. If editing skills are high, please apply. Please submit your
resume to C'Rene at JD-General-Corres@SBCglobal.net
Political Watchdog Position: We need someone who understands the requirements
for nonprofit organizations in regard to talking about politics. All you
would need to do is review our edited material to make sure we don't cross
the line when we mention people in office. Please write to C'Rene at JD-General-Corres@SBCglobal.net
FUND RAISERS: Now that we have incorporated as a non profit organization, we
are ready to take all the next steps. You need not be a professional to raise
money.Your good ideas and ability to speak with people will find an outlet
with Justice: Denied. We have made some contacts, so you will not be
completely on your own. If you have good organizational skills and high
motivation to make a difference, you are our kind of team mate. Write to C'Rene
JD-General-Corres@SBCglobal.net as the first step.
MEDIA LIAISON: Media Liaison person wanted for Justice Denied. Duties include
sending press releases, contacting the media by both email and other means.
Experience helpful, but good skills with people and resourcefulness will do
as well. Write to C'ReneJD-General-Corres@SBCglobal.net and tell us about yourself.
Other Positions:
LEGAL HELP (Students welcome): We need lawyers, paralegals, and others who
can donate some time to the cases we profile. We want to form a nationwide
network to free innocent people from prison. Lawyers, senior law students,
and other legally knowledgeable people are welcome. We are in contact with
other organizations for innocent people and linking our efforts to theirs. If
you know of others working in the same direction, please bring it to our
attention. We have already begun a database of lawyers and paralegals to help
with cases in several areas. We could also use an organizer in this area.
Please contact C'ReneJD-General-Corres@SBCglobal.net to discuss joining us at whatever level
your duties permit.
GRANT WRITERS (Amateurs welcome to try, too) We are now officially a non
profit organization and can go after those grants we have only dreamed about
until now. If you have experience in grant writing, please contact us. We
will offer a percentage of moneys received. The money you find for Justice:
Denied will fund the defense of people who claim to be innocent. If you are
moved by the stories you read, help us find the funds to hire lawyers to
argue these cases in court. Ironically, only the system that hurt these
people can ultimately grant a status of innocent. Sheila, who acquired our
first grant, is presently unable to continue this work, so we need someone to
take up where she left off. If you want to write grants, email C'Rene at
JD-General-Corres@SBCglobal.net Write Grants in the subject line.
ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY TO DISPLAY ON JUSTICE DENIED: Justice: Denied always
needs photos/paintings/sketches/ water colors of prisons or prison settings.
If you have any of these you would like to see gracing the pages of Justice:
Denied, please let us see them. We also display Prisoner art of all kinds.
Contact Stormy: JDWebmaster@juno.com
WRITE TO AN INMATE: The only qualification here is that you care. Choose from
among the people we have profiled and help someone feel hope. Please write
directly to the prisoner if the address is supplied. We will get those not
presently on site for you. Please contact the staff at Justice: Denied for
addresses. This is a self-starter task, and doesn't involve becoming part of
the staff.
